Original facade. Design work has been completed, building approval paperwork has been submitted, and a Standard Building Contract has been drawn up. Expressions of Interest were received from many groups and companies, and tender documents were issued to all responents. McCabe and Ludwig Building Contractors P/L of Beaudesert were chosen after a detailed selection process. Contracts were exchanged at the hall on the 22nd November, for an almost immediate start. |

22 November 2010. Signing the contract. The president of the hall committee, Judy Hartley, Lindsay Ludwig of McCabe and Ludwig, Building Contractors, and Jamie Gordon, project architect. |

24 November 2010. The modifications have begun, with the removal of the 'deco' concrete finish on both sides of the entrance. Stormwater works should begin next week. |

29 November 2010. New stormwater plumbing is almost completed, and the steps and patio are being demolished to make way for a new, upgraded entrance to the hall. |

1 December 2010. The steps and patio have been removed in preparation for the new foundations. |

13 December 2010. Concrete for the new steps and patio has been poured, with final finishing underway. |

17 January 2011. The four roof trusses, built on the ground, are being hoisted into position. These beams will remain a natural wood colour. |

21 January 2011. The roof is well underway, recessed lighting has been wired, and only the finishing touches remain. |

7 February 2011. Painting has started. One of the first
jobs to be done
was the Teak wood stain on the vertical boards at the front.
Restoration of the front doors back to their original Silky Oak finish
is almost complete. They look splendid! These doors are of
significance, as they were milled from a locally felled tree, and
donated by a prominent family of the area. Plastering of the sides of the steps will begin on Friday. |

15 February 2011. Painting is progressing. The large round logo above the steps is being painted in this photo. Final stormwater drainage from the new roof should be completed this week. |

20 February 2011. Painting has been completed, and the scaffolding removed. |

3 March 2011. The hand rails have been installed, also the tactiles at the top and bottom of the steps, and the bullnose on the step treads. |

4 March 2011. The end. We are very pleased with the finished job, and cannot thank all the contractors too highly. Although the weather delayed progress, the project was delivered on time and on budget. |
